The enchanting tale of "The Boy and the Heron", an Oscar-winning animated masterpiece from the renowned Studio Ghibli, is poised to captivate audiences worldwide as it prepares to make its debut on Netflix. Originally titled "Kimitachi wa Dou Ikiru Ka," the film, crafted by the visionary Hayao Miyazaki, clinched the prestigious Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, solidifying its place as a cinematic gem. 

Hayao Miyazaki won his second Oscar on Sunday for his semi-autobiographical Japanese animated feature film “The Boy and the Heron,” a fantasy tale about a boy grieving his dead mother.

Renowned filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki has secured his first Golden Globe Award for his semi-autobiographical fantasy film, "The Boy and the Heron", in the animated feature category.

The Golden Globes 2024 nominations, unveiled on December 11, feature notable names, with legendary filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki standing out. The 82-year-old earned his inaugural Golden Globe Award nomination for his semi-autobiographical fantasy film, "The Boy and the Heron".

This is the fourth time Miyazaki failed to retire. Earlier on, he announced plans to retire in 1997, after his film "Princess Mononoke" was released. And then again in 2001, after the release of "Spirited Away". 

In light of ongoing strikes affecting A-list star attendance, the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) has adapted its approach this year. Despite that hurdle, TIFF successfully unveiled an impressive lineup earlier this week, featuring celebrated directors who are able to attend the festival.
