Theatre Art Unit marks 34th anniversary with new play ‘Boloy’

“Boloy” is an intellectual drama about conscience and escape. It stages an extended encounter among three archetypal figures — a politician, a scientist, and a theologian — each trapped in the competing claims of politics, society, religion and power. All three, unable to resolve their inner conflicts, turn to a psychiatrist in search of liberation from doubt and contradiction.

Theatre Art Unit’s new play ‘Boloy’ to hit the stage this January

The play centres around three main characters: a politician, a scientist, and a theologian. All three are accomplished in their respective fields, yet each feels an underlying dissatisfaction, a longing for freedom. They’ve sought out a psychologist for counselling sessions, and soon realise that they’re trapped in their respective circles—suffocating, exhausted, and desperate to break free.
