This Hindi-language movie, which had its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) last year, edged out “All We Imagine As Light” by Payal Kapadia. Kapadia’s film, initially viewed as the favourite following its critical success and Grand Jury Prize win at Cannes, lost out to Rao’s film in the Oscar race selection.

The film industry, including actors, must embrace and adapt to changes that have resulted from the blurring line between streaming services and the big screen, the head of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) said ahead of the event's opening today.

The two-time Oscar winner, who has been featured in numerous films, such as "Tar", "The Aviator", "Blue Jasmine", "Thor: Ragnarok", and the "Elizabeth" franchise, will receive the honour on September 8 at Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto, Canada.

In light of ongoing strikes affecting A-list star attendance, the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) has adapted its approach this year. Despite that hurdle, TIFF successfully unveiled an impressive lineup earlier this week, featuring celebrated directors who are able to attend the festival.
