Transparency International Bangladesh yesterday called upon the government to immediately suspend all controversial projects, including the Rampal power plant near the Sundarbans, the world’s largest mangrove forest.

The World Heritage Centre of Unesco has decided to put the Sundarbans on the list of World Heritage in Danger.

The construction work of Rampal power plant will not be suspended despite Unesco's advice, State Minister for Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid says.
