Voting at all of the 46 centres in Cumilla’s Titas upazila were suspended over the allegations of vote rigging and irregularities as the fourth phase elections to 107 upazilas ended.

The Election Commission yesterday announced the fourth phase of Upazila Parishad polls schedule, setting March 31 as voting day.

Twenty-five aspirants for chairman posts, vice-chairman and vice-chairman posts reserved for women are set to be elected uncontested in the second phase of election to 124 upazila parishads slated for March 18.

Election Commissioner Mahbub Talukder says the Upazila Parishad election has lost its value due to non-participatory trend.

The first phase of Upazila Parishad election will be held on March 10.
