The 52nd edition of the International Emmy Awards was held on November 25 in New York City, showcasing the best of global television. 

Vir Das, who recently made headlines for his brilliant portrayal of Satyajit Sen in "Call Me Bae", has achieved another milestone by becoming the first Indian to host the 2024 International Emmys.

Concocted by Ishita Moitra and produced by Karan Johar, an eagerly awaited comedy series is on the horizon. With a star-studded ensemble featuring talents like Ananya Panday, Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, and Muskkaan Jaferi, the series is set to deliver a refreshing dose of humour. Titled “Call Me Bae”, the show will debut on Prime Video on September 6.

Vir Das, alongside “Derry Girls” season three, clinched the International Emmy for Comedy at the 2023 International Emmy Awards on Tuesday (Monday night in the US).

As Famous Hollywood television host and comedian Jimmy Kimmel is set to host the Oscars 2024 for the fourth time, Indian comedian Vir Das has penned a note as to why award ceremonies are better with comedians and not big stars as hosts.

The nominees for the 2023 International Emmy Awards have been announced, with 56 nominees from 20 countries representing 14 categories. Indian actors Jim Sarbh, Shefali Shah, and Vir Das have made it to the list. 

Indian Censor Board is unhappy with the subject of Mastizaade starring Sunny Leone which was slated for release in May.
