Another notable release, “Noya Manush”, is already captivating audiences in theatres this December. With the disbanding of the censor board several weeks ago, the formation of a new certification board has set the stage for the first adult-rated movie, "Voyal", to premiere under this system.

In an effort to understand the challenges and tentative guidelines, The Daily Star reached out to board members and stakeholders. Their insights highlight the complexities of transitioning from the long-standing censor board to a modern certification body.

Chhonda describes the essence of “Voyal” as rooted in its compelling and impactful story. “The narrative is truly the hero of this film. It is a strong, powerful story that captivates audiences,” she said.
