Dhaka residents are scorched by a hot sun above their heads, their throats feeling like dry wood, and there is plenty of murky, smelly water all around, but alas!

The Local Government and Rural Development (LGRD) ministry has said Tk 75.61 lakh is needed for collecting and examining 1,065 samples of water supplied by the Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (Wasa) in its 11 zones.

The High Court yesterday expressed dissatisfaction at the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (LGRD) for not complying with its order to examine the quality of water supplied by the Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (Wasa) through a committee.
