Bangladesh national women’s team displayed a frustrating performance both with the bat and ball to suffer a 10-wicket defeat to India in the first semifinal of the Women’s T20 Asia Cup at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Friday.

Murshida Khatun struck a career-best 80 off 59 balls while skipper Nigar Sultana Joty made an unbeaten 62 off 37 balls as Bangladesh national women’s team posted a colossal total of 191-2 in their stipulated 20 overs against Malaysia in their last Group B match of the Women’s T20 Asia Cup in Dambulla on Wednesday.

“Both our men’s and women’s teams are not strong in this format [T20]. Playing a smaller number of domestic competitions can be one of the reasons why,” Joty said during a press conference

India produced yet another dominant display to take home their seventh Women’s Asia Cup title as they brushed aside Sri Lanka with an eight-wicket victory in the grand finale at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
