Synesis IT receives award in APICTA 2024

Synesis IT, a technology solutions company in Bangladesh, has been recognised as the winner in the "Digital Government" category under the "Public Sector and Government" section at the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards 2024 for its Central Biometric Verification and Monitoring Platform (CBVMP).

In 2021, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) and the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) on the use of the CBVMP.

"CBVMP is a game-changing platform implemented by the Government of Bangladesh to monitor, preserve, and analyze the biometric SIM verification process of all mobile operators in the country," Synesis IT said in a blog post on their website.

"CBVMP controls the subscriber's maximum SIM purchase limit and serves as a globally recognized identity and security solution. In short, CBVMP is a vital tool for ensuring the safety and security of mobile users in Bangladesh," as per the company blog.

The APICTA Awards 2024 had over 280 entries from 15 member economies. There were 35 categories this year including consumers, industry, students, community services and participation, among others, according to the organisers.
