Team Phoenix to launch SecureNet BD

The Team Phoenix Group, a Dhaka-based technology organisation, has recently announced plans to launch SecureNet BD, an initiative designed to strengthen cybersecurity capabilities through Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence (CCoE) and a community-driven Security Operations Centre (SOC) or Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT).

According to a press release, the project, supported by a grant from the APNIC Foundation's ISIF Asia Programme, aims to address the growing threat of cyberattacks as Bangladesh undergoes rapid digital transformation. SecureNet BD will train more than 1,000 people across the country, with a target of ensuring that at least 30 percent of participants are women. It will also establish a Cyber Range to enable practical, hands-on training and research. 

A fellowship and mentorship scheme will be introduced to develop future cybersecurity leaders, while the community SOC/CSIRT will support universities, nonprofits, and local organisations in detecting and responding to cyber incidents, states the press release.
