Beverage maker PepsiCo has entered a partnership with plant-based protein provider Beyond Meat to create plant-based food and drinks.

The PLANeT Partnership —as it's called— plans to combine Beyond Meat's protein prestidigitation skills with PepsiCo's marketing and manufacturing base to bring new plant-based snacks and drinks to the global market, both companies claim.

In a statement, Ram Krishnan, PepsiCo Global Chief Commercial Officer, said "Plant-based proteins represent an exciting growth opportunity for us, a new frontier in our efforts to build a more sustainable food system and be a positive force for people and the planet, while meeting consumer demand for an expanded portfolio of more nutritious products,".

At this time, both companies refrained from releasing any other details.
