2 killed as tractor falls into ditch in Brahmanbaria

Two people were killed as a tractor plunged into a roadside ditch in Brahmanbaria's Kasba upazila today.

The deceased were identified as Pavel Mia, 18, helper of the tractor's driver and Delwar Mia, 30, a pedestrian, reports our Brahmanbaria correspondent.

Mohammad Mohiuddin Ahmed, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kasba Police Station, said the tractor was heading towards Tinlakhpeer area. It fell into the ditch in Chandaisar area in the afternoon after its driver lost control over the steering, leaving helper Pavel seriously injured. It also hit pedestrian Delwar, leaving him dead on the spot.

Pavel died on the way to Kasba Upazila Health Complex, said the police official.

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Brahmanbaria General Hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC added.
