BCB secures DRS deal till 2027
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury talked to the media today at a press conference and said that they have signed a long-term deal directly with DRS (Decision Review System) service providers till 2027.
The lack of DRS had been a burning issue during the recently-concluded BPL, as BCB failed to secure DRS services despite having the equipment available. Unavailability of human resources were cited as key reason why there was no DRS in the country's premier T20 competition. Later the BCB were able to secure DRS during the Playoff stage.
The BCB CEO informed that DRS will be available in the upcoming series against England, slated to begin on March 1 with the first ODI.
He also talked about a long-term deal that was not with the production company but one directly signed with DRS service providers.
"We tried to bring DRS in our domestic competition. The responsibility was with the production company but we have gotten out of that process. We are going long-term and we have signed a deal directly with those providing DRS service till 2027. The international and BPL tournaments in Bangladesh will have DRS (during this period)," he said during a press conference today.
