Hasina, Quader, Asaduzzaman sued in another murder case

Former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 185 others were sued today for the death of a man on the Dhaka-Mymenshing highway during the quota reform protests on July 18.

Md Mofijul Islam Sana, who claimed himself to be a relative of the victim, Ali Hussain, filed the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ragib Noor, said the bench assistant of the court.

After the hearing, the magistrate recorded the statement of complainant and asked officer-in-charge of Uttara East Police Station to submit a probe report in 20 working days whether any other case in connection with the incident was filed.

Former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan, Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former law minister Anisul Huq, former inspector general of police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun and former Detective Branch chief Harun Or Rashid are also among the accused in the case.

In the case, the complainant said Ali Hussain was shot dead in front of Azampur House Building bus stand on the Dhaka-Mymenshing highway during the quota reform movement around 2:00pm on July 18.
