More than 1,500 people received free medical treatment at a health camp in Narayanganj on Saturday, organised to mark the 47th founding anniversary of the BNP.

The camp, held at United Club in Fatullah, featured 13 doctors working in shifts, offering consultations and distributing basic medicines. Patients were also promised discounted diagnostic tests at Afia Jalal Medical Centre.

The initiative was led by BNP Executive Committee Member Mohammad Shah Alam, with support from the Afia Jalal Foundation and Jannah Welfare Foundation.

Basic medicines such as paracetamol, saline, antacids, and iron tablets were distributed free of cost. While many expressed gratitude for the service, some noted limited medicine availability. Most patients suffered from skin and cold-related issues, according to attending physicians.

The programme ran until 6:00pm.
