Man rapes granddaughter in Jashore

A man was sent to jail today after being arrested for allegedly raping his 12-year-old granddaughter in Jashore's Manirampur upazila.

The accused is Lutfar Rahman Gazi, 60, of the upazila.

Police said Lutfar first raped the girl around one month ago. Then, he raped the victim again on Monday afternoon.

Later, the victim shared the incident with her family members.

Lutfar was arrested on Monday night after a case was filed by the victim's aunt, said Noor Mohammad Gazi, officer-in-charge of Manirampur Police Station.

The accused was produced before a court that sent him to jail, the OC added.
