UP minister booked for burning journalist

An FIR was lodged on Tuesday against UP Minister Ram Murti Verma and five others in connection with killing of a journalist by setting him on fire in Shahjahanpur last week, reports the Indian Express

In a shocking incident, journalist Jagendra Singh was burnt to death for a Facebook post against Ram Murti.

According to reports, Singh's family has claimed that a police officer allegedly set him on fire.

Singh had reportedly written about Ram Murti's involvement in illegal mining and forced occupation of land etc.
