Ducsu polls irregularities: HC asks to reinstate Sabnam Jahan as DU associate professor

The High Court today directed the Dhaka University authorities to reinstate Sabnam Jahan, a faculty member of its management department, to the post of associate professor with all relevant facilities.

The DU authorities on July 20 last year, demoted Sabnam to assistant professor rank after she was found to be involved in irregularities that took place during the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) election in 2019 at Kuwait Maitree Hall on the university campus.

The HC bench of Justice Mamnoon Rahman and Justice Khandaker Diliruzzaman delivered the verdict following a writ petition filed by Sabnam challenging the DU decision.

Lawyer Salahuddin Dolon appeared for Sabnam Jahan during the hearing of the petition.
