Kuet prof’s death: Classes to resume on Jan 9; residential halls reopen after 35 days
Residential halls of Khulna Engineering and Technology University (Kuet) reopened today 35 days after remaining closed centring the death of the university's Prof Salim Hossain.
A total of seven halls including one for female students reopened around 10:00 am today following a decision of the Kuet administration, said Kuet Chhatra Kalyan Parishad Director Ismail Saifullah, report our Khulna correspondent.
Kuet was declared closed from December 3 to 13. Its closure was extended twice till January 7. The university administration announced to hold classes from January 9, according to a press release.
After a long closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the campus reopened in October last year.
The students were asked to follow the instruction strictly given by the authorities. Any kind of procession, meetings and rallies and other related activities will not be allowed without prior permission.
Poster, banner and festoon, except education-related, were declared forbidden in the academic areas.
