Assistant professor Subrata Kumar Biswas penalised after probe finds allegations true

A teacher of Pabna University of Science and Technology (Pust) has been dismissed on charges of sexually harassing a female student.

The accused, Subrata Kumar Biswas, an assistant professor in the social work department, was sacked following a decision taken at the 73rd board meeting on July 26, 2025, under the university's 2008 anti-sexual harassment rule.

Pust Registrar Bijon Kumar Brahma said the order was formally issued on September 23.

Earlier, the student complained to the university authorities, prompting the formation of a probe committee. The committee later confirmed the allegation in its investigation and submitted a report to the board.
