2-day National Mathematics Conference begins at JU

A two-day National Mathematics Conference-2022 kicked off at Jahangirnagar University today with the theme, "Mathematics in Science Research".

A two-day National Mathematics Conference-2022 kicked off at Jahangirnagar University today with the theme, "Mathematics in Science Research".

JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Md Nurul Alam inaugurated the conference in the seminar room of the university's Zaheer Raihan Auditorium this afternoon, reports our JU correspondent.

Various renowned researchers will present research papers at the conference, scheduled to end tomorrow.

"Through this, teachers and students of the university can learn something new," the VC said in his opening speech.

He also thanked the Bangladesh Mathematical Society for selecting Jahangirnagar University as the venue for such an important conference.

While addressing the event, Professor Laek Sajjad Endellah of JU Mathematics Department said, "Mathematics is necessary for all kinds of research. Even, the use of mathematics has significantly increased in every scientific research."

According to him, research is incomplete without mathematics.

The National Mathematics Conference is held every two years. This year, the event was organised by the Department of Mathematics of Jahangirnagar University with the support of the Bangladesh Mathematics Association and AF Mujibur Rahman Foundation.
