3 inmates sit for SSC exams inside Khagrachhari jail
Three students are sitting for their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination from the district jail in Khagrachhari.
The three inmates are sitting for the exams at the office room of the jail, reports our Rangamati correspondent quoting AG Mahmud, jailer of Khagrachhari District Jail.
SSC exams began across the nation today (September 15, 2022).
One of the examinees, Sohag Alam, son of Jahangir Alam of Kadamtali area of Khagrachhari municipality, is an accused in a case under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act. He is a student of Khagrachhari Technical School and College, who has been in jail for a month.
The other two are murder accused.
Ariful Islam is a student of Panchhari Bazar High School, who was arrested by police a few days back. Nipun Tripura is a student of Matiranga Municipal School who has been in jail since last year.
Jailer AG Mahmud said they are taking the exams under the supervision of three teachers.
Khagrachhari District Education Officer Uttam Khisa also confirmed that this time three examinees are taking part in the SSC examination from the district jail.
"We have made all kinds of arrangements so that they can take part in the examination at the scheduled time and in accordance with the rules," he added.
