'Govt will try to vaccinate HSC candidates before exams'
The government will try to vaccinate all the HSC examinees across the country before the public exams begin on December 2, Education Minister Dipu Moni said today.
"There are some particular processes for preserving the vaccines. We are trying to arrange it," the minister said.
She said this while visiting Motijheel Government High School as Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent exams started nationwide at 10:00am today.
Stern action will be taken if anyone attempts to leak SSC question papers, the minister warned.
The education minister sought everyone's cooperation so that all can maintain heath rules to prevent Covid-19.
This is the first public examination amid Covid-19 pandemic.
This year's Secondary School Certificate and equivalent exams began today, after over a nine-month delay due to the Covid-19 situation.
This year, the examinees are sitting for exams in three optional subjects with a shortened syllabus and carrying fewer marks.
Exams for science, humanities and business groups will be held on separate days.
They will not have to sit for tests in compulsory subjects like Bangla, English and Mathematics.
The exam duration for each paper is one and a half hours without any break between MCQ and written tests.
