PM launches distribution of free textbooks for school students

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today formally inaugurated the distribution of free textbooks for students up to the secondary level -- for the academic year 2022.

She joined the ceremony in Dhaka's Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) virtually from her official residence Gono Bhaban.

On behalf of the PM, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni and State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Md Zakir Hossen handed over textbooks to some students of primary and secondary levels at the function.

Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury was also present at the programme. 

The nationwide distribution of books will start from January 1.
