Recruitment tests for appointing 45,000 assistant teachers of government primary schools will be held in April.

Recruitment tests for appointing 45,000 assistant teachers of government primary schools will be held in April.

The appointment process will be completed by July, according to a statement of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.

The decision was taken at a meeting today presided over by Zakir Hossain, state minister for primary and mass education. The meeting was held at the Secretariat.

The meeting decided that 45,000 assistant teachers will be appointed this year although the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) in October 2020 sought application for appointing 32,577 assistant teachers.

In between, another 10,000 assistant teachers retired from their service. So, the ministry had increased number of the posts to be appointed.

DPE Director General Alamgir Mohammed Monsurul Alam said about 13.09 lakh job seekers applied for the posts. "This year recruitment test will take place in phases," he added.
