‘Want to keep educational institutions open as long as possible’

Education Minister Dipu Moni today said that there are no plans to close educational institutions at this time.

"I want to keep educational institutions open for as long as possible," she said.

"In this regard, we have a meeting today. If absolutely necessary, educational institutions will be closed, with the health of students, parents, and teachers taking priority," the minister added.

She was speaking to reporters after attending Daffodil International University's 9th convocation, in Savar, as the chief guest this afternoon, reports our local correspondent.

Regarding vaccination of students, Dipu Moni said that students above 12 years of age are being vaccinated.

Md Sabur Khan, chairman of the Board of Trustees of the university, and others accompanied the Minister of Education.

Degrees were awarded to 12,168 students who passed the bachelor's and master's examinations between Spring 2019 and Summer 2021 at this year's convocation.
