A Facebook page named "Aaiyo Jani" has been launched today to make the youth more resilient to conflict in Cox's Bazar.

A Facebook page named "Aaiyo Jani" has been launched today to make the youth more resilient to conflict in Cox's Bazar.

The page, in local dialect, is expected to support young people learning about livelihood opportunities, as well as provide guidance to develop different soft skills, reads a press release issued today.

The page was launched as part of USAID's YouthRISE activity led by BBC Media Action, in collaboration with the International Rescue Committee (IRC), Shushilan, Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK), and Young Power in Social Action (YPSA).

This page will also work to increase tolerance within the host communities by supporting young people, as well as community leaders to identify key areas of concern within their communities and assisting them to share their views and enabling dialogue between groups from the communities.

Md Nasim Ahmed, additional deputy commissioner (Development and Human Resource Management) of Cox's Bazar, launched the page as chief guest at the event held at Arunodaya School in the city.

Medhawi Giri, director of USAID's Office for Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance; Shelley Collins, IRC deputy director of programs; Richard Lace, director of programs of BBC Media Action, Md Al Mamun, country director of BBC Media Action addressed the programme, among others.

Department of Youth Development deputy director; Department of Social Services deputy director; Cox's Bazar district education officer; and Chief of Party Khandokar Hasanul Banna of USAID's YouthRISE activity also spoke on the occasion.
