BSSSP's musical programme at Shilpakala

Bangladesh Sangeet Sangathan Samannay Parishad (BSSSP) held a musical programme at the Music and Dance Centre Auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on May 15.

Bangladesh Sangeet Sangathan Samannay Parishad (BSSSP) held a musical programme at the Music and Dance Centre Auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on May 15.

At its 41st musical soiree, artistes from Rabirashmi, a member organisation of BSSSP, rendered songs of Tagore. The event featured solo and choral renditions of bard's songs from pooja, prem, prokriti and bichitra parjaye along with songs emanating from baul and foreign tunes.

Rabirashmi artistes set off the event with several choruses including “Prokhor Tapan Tapey”, “Esho Shyamal Sundar”, “Akash Bhora Surja Tara” and more.  Artistes' solo repertoire included “Amar Hiyar Majhe”, “Tumi Kon Kanoner Phul”, “Chokher Aloye Dekhechhilem”, “Bhenge Mor Gharer Chabi” and more. Mahadev Ghosh and Sristi Sarkar also recited Tagore poems at the event.

Mahadev Ghosh, director of Rabirashmi planned and directed the programme.
