Nupur Beje Jaye on Banglavision

The incorporation of kathak dance has brought success for many commercial Bollywood films. Pt. Birju Maharaj, his predecessor Lachhu Maharaj , and several noted dance directors of Lucknow gharana directed many dance numbers in films like “Mughal-E-Azam”, “Pakeezah,” “Shatranj Ke Khilari”, “Bajirao Mastani” and “Devdas”.

Shibl Mohammad, noted dancer-choreographer and one of the leading disciples of Pt. Birju Maharaj has presented kathak dance pieces included in these Bollywood films anew. Satellite TV channel Banglavision will air a special dance programme “Nupur Beje Jaye” marking Eid-ul-Fitr. Reza Islam produces the programme.  

Another noted dancer-choreographer Shamim Ara Nipa has interviewed Shibli Mohammad. Shooting for the film wrapped up recently on floor no. 4 of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation.
