Theatre troupe Prangonemor has been diligently practicing Rabindra Natya, or stage plays of Tagore, since its inception. They have brought four Tagore plays to stage, and have also organised a theatre festival exclusively of Tagore plays, featuring productions from Bangladesh and India.

On June 12, the troupe will travel to the Rabindra Kuthibari in Kushtia's Shelaidah, to host a two-day “Praner Mela” festival. Aside from music and merrymaking, the event will also mark the first reading rehearsal of the troupe's new play “Ami O Rabindranath”, written and directed by Nuna Afroz.

Apart from “Ami O Rabindranath”, the troupe is set to bring two more plays to the Dhaka stage this year, directed by Shishir Rahman and Awal Reza.
