“Banner of Victory” opens at AFD

“Banner of Victory”, a solo painting exhibition by artist Leeton Bhuiya, opened at the La Galerie of Alliance Française de Dhaka (AFD) on August 25. 

Leeton Bhuiya, a freelance visual artist, got his bachelor's degree in Fine Arts (BFA) in 1983. “Banner of Victory” is his fourth solo painting exhibition where he exhibits 25 artworks in acrylic and mixed media. 

Liaquat Ali Lucky, director general of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, attended Tuesday's inaugural ceremony as chief guest while Dr. Tahmeena, Associate Professor at Holy Family Red Crescent Medical Collage and Hospital was the guest of honour.

Leeton Bhuiya said, “Painting is an expression of remembrance of our golden past which reminds us of how we achieved the 'Banner of Victory' through sacrifices.”

In most of Bhuiya's paintings, emancipation and inner 
strength appear as the central subjects.

The exhibition will remain open till August 31.
