Gambhira performance draws attention

A performance of Gambhira, traditional songs of Rajshahi region, entertained a huge audience at Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) campus in Trishal here Tuesday evening.

The Music Department students of JKKNIU performed the show marking tPahela Baishakh. Taiyeba Binte Kamal and Emdadul Haque played the role of grandmother (nani) and grandson (nati) on the stage.

The show was directed by Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin and Arifur Rahman. Vice-chancellor of the university Professor Mohit Ul Alam and Mosharrat Shabnam, chairman of Music Department were also present during the performance.

The same group also performed Gambhira at Mymensingh Club the same day.

Departments of Theatre and Performance Studies and Fine Arts assisted the performance.
