Neerja to be India's official entry at Oscars 2017?

The makers of "Neerja", a Sonam Kapoor starrer biopic on the late flight attendant Neerja Bhanot, want the film to be India's official entry to the Oscars next year.

Sonam Kapoor starrer "Neerja", a biopic on the late flight attendant Neerja Bhanot, has not only been lapped by the audiences and critics alike, in fact, it is doing a marvelous business at the box office.

Having raked in the collection of Rs. 52.24 crore since its release on February 19, the film has inspired many and now its makers want this film to be India's official entry to the Oscars next year.

At a media interaction of the film for success celebration, when Fox Star Studios CEO Vijay Kumar was asked what he feels about "Neerja" being at Oscars, he had this to say.

"Neerja" told the story of a braveheart flight attendant, who lost her life while saving passengers on a flight hijacked by terrorists in Karachi in 1986.
