Since starting his career as a photographer in 1967, Anwar Hossain had solidified his legacy as one of Bangladesh's all-time greats in the field with 5 national awards and more than 60 international awards.

Since starting his career as a photographer in 1967, Anwar Hossain had solidified his legacy as one of Bangladesh's all-time greats in the field with 5 national awards and more than 60 international awards. However, his legacy spans more than tangible awards can portray, having taken some of the most iconic photos of Bangladesh's Liberation War. An equally impressive cinematographer with films like Surja Dighal Bari, Chitra Nodir Pare, Lalsalu and Shyamol Chhaya becoming masterful works under his artistic eye. Today, we mourn the sudden demise of the great man, remembering some of his iconic works.
