Rumman Rashid Khan is a prolific and talented playwright with over 70 one-hour plays and telefilms to date. Ten more plays scripted by him will soon be at the shooting stage.

Rumman Rashid Khan is a prolific and talented playwright with over 70 one-hour plays and telefilms to date. Ten more plays scripted by him will soon be at the shooting stage. In 2009, he first scripted a play called "SMS" starring Mahfuz Ahmed, Prova and Emon. Chayanika Chowdhury directed the project that was aired on Ekushey TV. The play was so popular that the TV authority telecast it several times over.

His TV play “Maa”, casting late noted artiste Diti also won critical acclaim. Khan's other remarkable plays are “Phirchhi Birotir Por” starring Tarin and Arefin Shuvo for ntv, "Onnorakom Premer Golpo" with  Tarin in the cast and “Dithio Addhai” casting Mou and Mahfuz. Banglavision also telecast the hugely popular “Dithio Addhai” several times over. 

Khan has also written scripts for cinema. His first film “Purnodoirgho Prem Kahini” earned him fame. Actress Jaya Ahsan won the National Film Award for the movie. He later wrote a sequel “Purnodoirgho Prem Kahini-2” and became a popular scriptwriter overnight. Khan said “I want to write plays and films that are memorable."

 Apart from all this, Khan has emceed a TV programme on Maasranga. “While working as a journalist, I chose to take up writing as a profession. Writing really stimulates me,” the playwright said.
