Youth held for 'raping' minor girl

Police arrested a youth for allegedly raping a seven-year-old girl in Savar's Begunbari area on Sunday night.

The arrestee, Kader Mia, 28, is a neighbour of the victim.

Quoting the victim's family, police said Kader, a day labourer, took the girl to his room and raped her around 10:00am. Hearing her screams, the girl's family members and their neighbours rescued her and caught Kader.

Kader was later handed over to police.

The girl is undergoing treatment at One-Stop Crisis Centre of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The victim's father filed a case against Kader with Savar Police Station.
