Bangladesh Agricultural Journalist Forum gets new president, general secretary

The Bangladesh Agricultural Journalist Forum (BAJF) has formed a new committee for the 2026-2027 session. The committee was announced during a programme held at the KIB conference room in the city today.

Shahanuare Shaid Shahin, news editor (online) at Daily Ittefaq, has been elected president of the committee, and Abu Khalid, senior newsroom editor at DBC News, as general secretary.

Yasir Wardad, senior reporter at The Financial Express, and ANM Mohibub Uz Zaman, senior correspondent at The Daily Sun, have been elected vice presidents.

The joint general secretaries are Abbas Uddin Noyon, chief reporter at The Business Standard, and Emdadul Huq Tuhin, senior correspondent at Sarabangla.net.

Md Mehedi Hasan, senior reporter at Protidiner Sangbad, has been elected organising secretary, while Mofazzal Hossain, staff reporter at Bonik Barta, is the new finance secretary.

Altaf Hossain, senior reporter at Daily Khola Kagoj, and Afsana Mimi, staff reporter at Channel 24, have been elected assistant organizing secretaries.

Moriom Moni Sejuti from Daily Bhorer Kagoj has been elected office secretary; Sushanta Sinha from 71 TV as research secretary; Saleh Mohammad Rashid Alok from politics news as event affairs secretary; Al Mamun from Bangla Vision TV as training secretary; Tajnur Islam from Jamuna Television as khamari development affairs secretary; Asaduzzaman Noor from Ajker Patrika as publication secretary; Mehedi Al Amin from Protidiner Bangladesh as international affairs secretary; Sukanta Halder from The Daily Star as publicity secretary; Imran Hossain Imon from UNB as farmers' rights secretary; and Lutfur Rahman Kankon from Amader Shomoy as information secretary.

The five elected executive members of the new committee are Manik Muntasir from Bangladesh Pratidin, Zahir Munna from Channel i, Shuvo Khan from Somoy Television, Md Mottakinur Rahman Mashfe from Daily Kaler Kantho, and Md Al-Amin from Daily Times of Bangladesh.
