Shares on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) rose in morning trade today, reversing the losses of the previous session.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the premier bourse, increased 7.57 points, or 0.14 percent, to 5,387.64 by 12:10 pm, according to DSE data.
The mood was mixed across the board: the Shariah-compliant DSES rose, while the blue-chip DS30 fell.
Turnover, an indicator of investor activity, reached Tk 246.46 crore at the time.
Market breadth was positive, with 209 issues advancing against 111 declining, and 73 holding steady.
Among the notable moves, First Security Islami Bank shot up 9.09 percent to top the gainers' list, while Walton Hi-Tech Industries slid 11 percent, posting the worst fall of the session so far.
