Instalment payment period extended till Dec 31

Bangladesh Bank today said that borrowers will not be considered defaulters if they pay their instalments by December 31 this year.

The central bank issued a circular in this regard considering the evolving situation due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier, the extension was given until September.

According to the central bank circular, even if a borrower does not repay the loan, no change can be made in the classification of the loan. The loan classification scheduled for January 1 this year cannot be changed till December 31.
