Youngone wins global diversity award at WCD Visionary Awards
Youngone Corporation has become the first Korean company to be honoured at the Women Corporate Directors (WCD) Visionary Awards, receiving recognition in the Emerging Leadership category for its commitment to diversity and inclusion across global operations.
The company has expanded female employment at its overseas bases, including Bangladesh, since the 1980s, contributing to women's economic independence and social progress.
The award was presented at the 2025 ceremony at The Drake Hotel in Chicago, marking WCD's 25th anniversary, according to a press release.
The global nonprofit represents around 3,700 women corporate directors and honours companies that demonstrate excellence in governance, performance, and diversity.
Youngone was lauded for advancing women's leadership at its Korean headquarters, where women account for 70 percent of employees and 60 percent of managers — well above industry averages.
Female staff also record longer tenures than men, reflecting a stable and inclusive workplace.
Youngone Corporation Chairman Kihak Sung said that equal opportunities had strengthened the company and driven its growth.
Michelle Wardian, president of Youngone Americas, added that the firm would continue to promote diverse female leaders through fair recruitment and evaluation.
