Excelerate Energy opens 'Excelerate Hope Hospital' in Moheshkhali

The facility aims to enhance maternal healthcare services in the region

Excelerate Energy, in partnership with the Hope Foundation for Women and Children of Bangladesh, has inaugurated the first phase of the Excelerate Hope Hospital in Kutubjom, Moheshkhali.

The facility aims to enhance maternal healthcare services in the region. The ceremony was attended by government officials, Excelerate Energy representatives, and Hope Foundation members.

The 17,280-square-foot hospital will begin offering outpatient care immediately and is set to expand into a 30-bed facility. Designed to serve Moheshkhali's residents, particularly women and children, the hospital underscores Excelerate Energy's commitment to community welfare.

The event commenced with a Quran recitation, followed by remarks from Commodore (ret.) Habib Bhuiyan, Country Manager of Excelerate Energy Bangladesh. He highlighted the company's broader commitment to Bangladesh's socio-economic development. Peter Haas, Strategic Advisor at Excelerate Energy, emphasized the initiative's role in improving healthcare access. "Excelerate Energy is a long-term partner with Bangladesh. We are committed not only to strengthening its energy security but also to enhancing the well-being of communities where we operate," he said.

Dr. Nurun Nahar Chowdhury, ndc, Additional Secretary (Development) at the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, lauded the hospital's potential impact. "This facility will greatly benefit the local population. Through such initiatives, we can ensure quality healthcare for all," she noted.

Lutfey Siddiqi, Honorable Chief Adviser's Special Envoy on International Affairs, joined via Zoom to commend the collaboration. "The establishment of this hospital, focusing on modern healthcare services for women and children, is a significant achievement," he said. "Excelerate Hope Hospital, funded through Excelerate Energy's CSR initiative, exemplifies its strong partnership with Bangladesh."

K.M. Zahiduzzaman, Country Director of Hope Foundation, expressed gratitude on behalf of Hope Foundation's President and Founder, Dr. Iftikher Mahmood. "We thank Excelerate Energy for establishing this 30-bed hospital. The Hope Foundation looks forward to working together to bring healthcare directly to the people of Moheshkhali."
