IBA Alumni Club gets new board, Syed Mahbubur Rahman new chairman

The first-ever voting to elect the Board of Directors of the IBA Alumni Club, an organisation of former students of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of Dhaka University, was held yesterday at the club premises.

Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director & CEO of Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB), has been elected as the club's Chairman. Additionally, ten members have been elected to the Board of Directors. They are Imtiaz Ahmad Shams, Malik M. Sayeed, ATM Shamim Uz Zaman, Md. Rahat Khan, Abu Issa Mohammad Mainuddin, Nafis Raihan, A.S.M. Rafiq Ullah, Professor Ireen Akhter, Md. Amanur Rahman, and Mohammad Shakil Wahed.

The election witnessed enthusiastic participation from club members, with an impressive voter turnout. Two candidates contested for the Chairman position, while 18 candidates vied for the Director positions.

Following the election, Syed Abu Naser Bukhtear Ahmed, Chairman of Agrani Bank's Board of Directors, congratulated the newly elected board members and encouraged collective efforts for the club's progress.

Earlier in the morning, Annual General Meeting of IBA Alumni Club was commenced which was presided over by Chairman-in-charge M Musleh Uz Zaman. The Club Activity Report and Financial Report were presented at the AGM. Soon after, the Election Commission led by Chief Election Commissioner Yawer Sayeed started the voting procedure.
