SMC celebrates 50 years of journey

The Social Marketing Company (SMC), a leading organisation in health and family planning in Bangladesh, is celebrating a remarkable milestone as it approaches its 50th anniversary early next year.
Over the past five decades, SMC has been at the forefront of promoting public health and well-being through its diverse range of products and services, contributing significantly to building a healthier and happier nation.
To commemorate this historic achievement, the SMC 50th Anniversary Caravan was launched on December 30, 2024, from the SMC headquarters in Dhaka. The vibrantly decorated caravan will tour various locations across the city, spreading the joy of this celebration among the public, stakeholders, and business partners. This initiative symbolises not only SMC's enduring success but also its deep gratitude to the community for their unwavering support over the years.
The caravan features an array of engaging activities, including screenings of SMC's iconic advertisements, a puzzle challenge, and interactive sessions where participants can share their experiences with SMC's products and services.
The caravan will traverse different parts of Dhaka city until January 25, 2025.
The inaugural ceremony of this celebratory journey was attended by Toslim Uddin Khan, Managing Director & CEO of SMC, and Sayef Nasir, Managing Director of SMC Enterprise Limited, along with senior officials from both organizations.
During the event, Toslim Uddin Khan highlighted SMC's impactful legacy in enhancing the well-being of women, children, and families. He also expressed his appreciation for the support that has enabled SMC's journey of success. Sayef Nasir reaffirmed his commitment to advancing SMC's mission with renewed vigor in the years ahead.
