We got hold of the two S6 phones a while back. That too for a short, short week. On day one we could see why people hold it as if it is the world's most expensive blueberry cheesecake. They want to eat it but they are afraid to bite.
So we took a bite. Is it the next big thing? Samsung should have been winning prizes the last couple of years for bringing out the most boring looking phones filled to the brim with excessive bloatware. They played it safe and they made big sellers based on their name but excitement wasn't part of the package. The S6 edge? It threw all that into the bin and created a flagship that won't get lost in the tea party where everybody shows off their latest devices.

Our review of the Samsung S6

The curved screen is the hot new thing. Soon everybody will be making a device with curved displays. And eventually those displays will keep curving adn twisitng till one looks fire breathing swan. But for now, this is it. For now, that curved edge is utterly pointless. It does nothing. But the tactile feel is new like the first time tasting a proper shwarma. And that QHD display is amazing in its 577ppi sharpness.  Sometimes, form does more than function. It looks like a million takas adjusted for inflation.

As for function, there's little difference from the S6 regular. You get the 64-bit Exynos 7420 octa-core CPU with the by-now-de-facto 3GB RAM. What that mouthful means is there is no app on the market now to make this beast hiccup. Unless Crysis becomes a mobile game. What we appreciate is that this time around, bloatware has been kept low. The camera is stellar; super fast, super stable. We've whipped it out like a Wild West gun and shot images dead still. This flagship beat all kinds of performance tasks we threw at it. But that's not why you'll want it only. You want it for the looks. And that presents the difference in the price with the S6 'regular'. It is about a whopping 10k extra for that pair of edges; the price of beauty. If there's any contender now in terms of looks that could take on the iPhone 6, this is it..

And there you have it. Should you buy one? Yes because few devices on the market are as powerful. But sometimes you buy it becuse it is just beautiful.
