A female student of Mirpur Bangla College has filed a case against a leader of the college unit Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) for allegedly stabbing her.

Shuvra Mahmud, a second-year student of English department, lodged the case with Mirpur Police Station today, alleging that Mujibur Rahman Anik, BCL president of the college unit and his two associates hacked her near the college campus around 7:00pm on Friday.

The trio attacked her with sharp weapon when she was standing on footpath near Mirpur Eye Hospital, opposite to the college, the victim mentioned in the case statement.

Shuvra, however, did not mention any reason behind the attack, said police.

After being hacked in the right hand she took primary treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and later shifted to a private clinic, said Sentu Chandra Das of DMCH police outpost.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Ohidul Islam of the station said they were trying to nab the attackers.

According to police source, Shuvra filed a general diary with the police station against the BCL leaders at least a couple of weeks ago for harassing her sexually.

The source also said allegations had been brought against the college unit BCL president for provoking another female student to commit suicide.
