Detectives recovered several bombs from a house in Dhaka's Mohammadpur area last night.

The law enforcers so far recovered different categories of bombs including hand-made grenades and liquid bombs raiding a house at Block-D of Nabodoy Housing, said Deputy Inspector General Monirul Islam, the chief of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

"The bombs are highly powerful. Two bombs have been defused so far," Sanwar Hossain, additional deputy commissioner of Detective Branch (DB) and chief of DB's Bomb Disposal Unit, told The Daily Star.

The flat was a den of banned militant outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), ADC Sanwar added.

The ABT men rented the flat identifying themselves as students and have been living there for one and a half months, he added.

Police said they launched the drive based on the information of two alleged members of ABT who were detained from Badda last night.
