Fire at multi-story building in Shantinagar controlled

Firefighters brought a fire under control after it broke out at a multi-story building in Shantinagar area of Dhaka this evening.

The blaze originated at the 5th floor of the nine-storey apartment building around 8:45pm, said an official at Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters.

Four units of firefighter brought the fire under control at 9:20pm, the official added.

The cause of the fire could not be known immediately.
