‘Militant’ held in Dhaka

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) today claimed to have arrested a suspected militant in Dhaka’s Kamalapur area.

A team of Rab-11 arrested Md Toufique Hossain Sumon, 34, an active member of banned outfit Ansar Al Islam, in a drive yesterday evening and recovered religiously inciting books and leaflets from his possession, according to a Rab press release.

He was shown arrested in a case filed on January 27 this year under the Anti-Terrorism Act, it said.
