Relatives meet Khaleda in jail

Four relatives of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia met the former prime minister at the prison on Nazimuddin Road, Dhaka, this afternoon, where she is being kept jailed over graft.

Four relatives of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia met the former prime minister at the prison on Nazimuddin Road, Dhaka, this afternoon, where she is being kept jailed over graft.

Khaleda's sister Selina Islam, younger brother Shamim Eskander, his wife Nasrin Eskander and son Avik Eskander entered around 3:35pm and met her around 4:15pm, our staff correspondent reports.

After a 40-minute conversation with Khaleda Zia, they left the jail around 5:09pm.

Some lawyers also went to the jail gate and provide some fruits and other necessary food items. 

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia landed in jail yesterday, after she was handed a five-year imprisonment for misappropriating a donation fund of Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
